Got the chance to go to Kyobo Bookstore and I just browsed for new books/Christmas gift ideas. Kyobo bookstore has one of the largest selection of books in English but the only downside is how expensive the books are. (about 30 to 40% more expensive).
Books in other languages other then English, Japanese, or Chinese are rare to find or expensive. I highly recommend buying books like cookbooks, Spanish/French/German language books, and children’s books in your current country before living in Korea.
Hottrack is a kind of stationary/electronics/art supplies open store that is found in Kyobo bookstore buildings. If you buy a certain number of books from Kyobo you could also receive a coupon to spend in Hottrack.
Koreans are in fact education obsessed and it’s a way of life I never experienced to such an extent in the states. To see a bookstore striving alone is something beautiful and an absolute joy to see.
